Aviation stories, through the lens.

Join Carson Manning and Jack Whatley for conversations about aviation and the photography that captures it. From warbirds and airshows to camera gear, shooting techniques, and the stories behind our favorite images, Aviation In Review brings you closer to the flightline—and the pilots, photographers, and people who make it worth capturing.

About us!

Aviation In Review was founded in 2023 by a group of friends and aviation photographers who wanted a place to share thier passion for aviation.

What started as conversations about airshows has grown into something bigger. Today, Aviation In Review covers the aviation community through podcasts interviews, airshow coverage, aviation photography, event reviews, and stories from the people who keep the warbirds flying.

Hosted by Carson Manning & Jackson Whatley Sr., the podcast features conversations with pilots, performers, photographers, aircraft owners, historians, organizers, and others throughout the aviation world.

As we continue to grow, our goal is simple: tell the stories behind the aircraft, events, and people that make aviation worth experiencing.

An elevated, wide-angle photographic view of a busy airshow flightline, with multiple aircraft types—sleek aerobatic planes, a vintage warbird, and a modern jet—parked in a precise row on sunlit concrete. In the foreground on a sturdy monopod stands a large telephoto lens pointed toward the runway, emphasizing the photographer’s vantage point. The sky is bright and slightly hazy, with soft midday light creating crisp, defined shadows under each aircraft. Background elements are slightly blurred to keep attention on the lens and aircraft, achieving moderate depth of field. The mood is energetic and anticipatory, conveying the excitement and informational focus of an aviation podcast dedicated to covering airshows in detail.

“One of my favorite aviation photography podcasts. Great conversations with people across the warbird world, plus airshow coverrage and photography from people who are actually out there experiencing it”

— Chris Dalton, Aviation Photographer
